Verification Regulation of Combustible Gas Alarm

Publication Date:2025/04/02

In industrial production, the combustible gas alarm is like a safe guardian, always monitoring the concentration of combustible gas in the surrounding environment, and immediately issue an alarm once it exceeds the standard, effectively preventing fire and explosion accidents. However, to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the Combustible Gas Alarm , regular verification is essential. So what is the verification procedure for combustible gas alarms? The following is a detailed introduction to the following.

verification regulation for combustible gas alarm

importance of 1. verification regulation

Combustible gas alarm as a safety device, its accuracy and reliability are directly related to people's life and property safety. Over time, the alarm may degrade due to aging, damage or environmental factors. Therefore, in accordance with the provisions of the verification procedures for the combustible gas alarm for regular verification, is to ensure its normal operation, timely detection and elimination of security risks of an important means.

Scope of 2. Verification Regulations

> According to current standards (such as JJG 693-2011 "Verification Regulations for Combustible Gas Detection Alarm"), the verification regulations for combustible gas alarm are applicable to the first verification, subsequent verification and in-use inspection of combustible gas detection alarm (including combustible gas detector) used in non-mine operation environment. Whether it is a fixed, movable or portable alarm, it must be verified in accordance with this procedure.

Preparation for 3. Verification

> 1, environmental conditions: the verification shall be carried out in an environment with an ambient temperature of 0~40 ℃, a relative humidity of less than 85%, good ventilation and no interference with the measured gas.

2. Equipment preparation: prepare standard gas, flow controller, stopwatch, insulation resistance meter and other equipment and substances for verification. The standard gas shall be provided by the unit approved and issued by the administrative department of measurement and has the corresponding standard substance "Manufacturing License", and its concentration unit shall be expressed by molar ratio concentration or volume ratio concentration in the standard state, and converted into the corresponding LEL (lower explosive limit) value.

3. instrument preparation: the verified combustible gas alarm, gas cylinder for verification and supporting devices shall be placed under the above environmental conditions for more than 12 hours to ensure that the instrument is in a stable state.

4. verification items and methods

1. appearance and power-on inspection: check whether the appearance of the alarm is intact, the structure is complete, and the accessories are complete, whether each component can operate normally after power-on, and whether the display part has corresponding display.

2. Zero point calibration: use clean air to calibrate the zero point of the alarm to ensure that the indication value of the alarm is zero when there is no combustible gas.

3. indication error verification: select standard gases with different concentrations (e.g. 10%, 40%, 60% LEL), record the indication value after entering the alarm, compare with the standard value, and calculate the indication error.

4. response time verification: select a certain concentration of standard gas (e.g. 40% LEL), and record the time required from the indication value to reach 90% of the stable indication value after entering the alarm, I .e. the response time.

5. Repeatability verification: fill in standard gas several times at the same concentration, record the indication value of the alarm, and calculate its repeatability.

6. Alarm function and action value check: set alarm point, supply standard gas with corresponding concentration, check whether the alarm can send out alarm signal in time, and record its alarm indication value.

5. Verification Results Processing

1, qualified judgment: according to the requirements of the verification regulations, the verification results are judged. If all items are qualified, the combustible gas alarm is judged to be qualified and a verification report is issued.

2. unqualified treatment: if there are unqualified items, the combustible gas alarm will be determined to be unqualified, and a notice of verification results will be issued, indicating the unqualified items. At the same time, it is recommended that users repair or replace the alarm in time.

To sum up, the verification of combustible gas alarm is an important means to ensure its accuracy and reliability. Through regular verification, we can find and eliminate potential safety hazards in time and provide strong guarantee for people's life and property safety. Therefore, all relevant units and individuals should attach great importance to the verification of combustible gas alarms and operate in strict accordance with the verification procedures.
