What is the alarm value of hydrogen alarm in ppm?

Publication Date:2022/03/28

Hydrogen is 1 kind of special gas, which is flammable and explosive, but also toxic and harmful, that is, 1 a kind of duality of gas. Therefore, under normal circumstances, in order to ensure safe production, we all need to install a hydrogen alarm to detect its concentration in real time, so that when the hydrogen content in the air exceeds the standard, the hydrogen alarm will sound and light alarm and prompt the user to take safety measures. Before using the hydrogen alarm, we all need to set its alarm value. Do you know the alarm value of hydrogen alarm ? The following is a brief introduction by yi yun Tian:

hydrogen alarm setting range:

in the appendix of" design standard for detection and alarm of combustible and toxic gases in petrochemical industry ", the characteristics of common flammable gases and vapors mentioned: boiling point (℃):-253; Explosion concentration (v%) : lower limit 4.0; Upper limit 75; vapor density (kg/m3N):0.09.

Therefore, when setting the alarm value concentration of hydrogen alarm, these characteristics and relevant regulations of hydrogen (H2) should be followed;

(1) The explosive concentration range of hydrogen is 4%-75%(V), and the lower explosive limit (LEL) is 4%(V);

(2) combustible gas A1 alarm is less than or equal to 25% LEL; The combustible gas A2 alarm is less than or equal to 50% LEL and can be set in a strict direction;

(3) the general range of gas alarm is 0-100% LEL;

(4) The alarm value is set too low, and the accuracy of the detector itself may not be reached, zero drift may cause false alarm.

Most of the low alarm points of the current combustible gas alarm are set to 25% LEL. The 100 LEL here refers to the explosion limit value of gas, that is to say, when the combustible gas alarm shows 100 LEL, the explosion limit of combustible gas has just been reached.

at present, the detection range of hydrogen alarm is 0 ~ 100ppm, 1000, 2000, 10000, 20000, 40000ppm, 100 LEL, 100%Vol, and other ranges can be customized. Its hydrogen alarm is related to the safety of hydrogen use. Where there is hydrogen, there may be hydrogen explosion accidents. Whether this possibility is large or not, it is necessary for us to take safety precautions to avoid excessive hydrogen concentration in the working environment and fire explosion accidents and even casualties caused by reaching the lower limit of hydrogen explosion.

Most of the low alarm points of the current combustible gas alarm are set to 25% LEL. The 100%LEL here refers to the explosion limit value of the gas, that is, when the combustible gas alarm shows 100%LEL, the explosion limit of the combustible gas has just been reached.

The hydrogen alarm is related to the safety of hydrogen use. Where there is hydrogen, hydrogen explosion accidents may occur, no matter whether this possibility is great, but we must do a good job in safety prevention to prevent the hydrogen concentration in the working environment from being too high, reaching the lower limit of hydrogen explosion causing fire and explosion accidents and even casualties.
