What are the calibration steps for combustible gas detectors?
Publication Date:2025/05/26In industrial production, gas leakage detection, and various scenarios where there may be a risk of combustible gas leakage, the combustible gas detector can sense the concentration change of combustible gas in the air in real time, providing timely early warning for personnel safety and equipment protection. However, the performance of the combustible gas detector will gradually decrease with the passage of time, the influence of the environment and the increase of the frequency of use. Therefore, regular calibration of combustible gas detector to ensure the accuracy and reliability of its measurement results is the key link to ensure safe production and prevent accidents. Do you know the calibration steps of combustible gas detector? The following is an introduction to yiyuntian electronics:
The calibration of the combustible gas detector requires the following steps:
1. Confirm calibration environment
Select a dust-free, non-corrosive gas, suitable temperature and low relative humidity environment for calibration.Ensure that there is no combustible gas interference in the environment to avoid affecting the accuracy of the calibration results.
2. Prepare the calibration tool
Tools: gas flow meter, calibration gas bottle, pressure reducing valve, connecting pipe, etc.
3. Check Device Status
2. calibration steps
1. Zero Calibration
Pass zero gas: place the tester in clean air or use a nitrogen bottle to fill with nitrogen to ensure that there is no combustible gas in the environment.
Adjust the zero point: Follow the steps in the tester's instructions to adjust the displayed value to zero.
Observe the stability: Wait for about 5 minutes and observe whether the displayed value is stable. If there is any change, the zero point shall be adjusted repeatedly until it is stable.
2. Indication calibration (span calibration)
Connect calibration gas: connect the calibration gas bottle to the gas flow meter and adjust the gas flow through the pressure reducing valve.
Connect the calibration gas: connect the output of the gas flow meter to the sensor interface of the detector to expose the detector to the calibration gas.
Adjust the indication value: After the display value of the detector is stable, adjust the indication value to the concentration value of the standard gas according to the instructions.
Repeat the calibration: Repeat the above steps at least 3 times to ensure the accuracy of the calibration results.
3. Linear calibration (optional)
Select several different concentrations of calibration gas, calibrate separately and record the displayed values. Draw the corresponding relationship curve between the concentration and the displayed value to check whether the relationship is linear. If there is a deviation, adjust the tester.
In summary, we can see that the calibration of the combustible gas detector is not a simple operation, but It needs to be carried out in strict accordance with the steps, and pay attention to details and safety of systematic work.Through zero calibration, indication calibration and necessary linear calibration, we can ensure that the detector is always in the best working condition, which provides a strong guarantee for accurate and reliable detection of combustible gas concentration in various complex environments. Regular calibration and maintenance not only extend the service life of the detector, but more importantly, it escorts safe production and effectively reduces the risk of major accidents such as fire and explosion caused by gas leakage.
