VOC detector use precautions
Publication Date:2021/06/30 VOC detector is used to continuously measure toxic and harmful organic gases in hazardous or industrial environments. It can be used alone and can be monitored online in real time without matching the host. Therefore, it is especially suitable for personal safety protection and on-site VOC detection. However, since the VOC detector is the 1 detector commonly used in risk areas, we must pay attention to relevant matters before using the VOC detector, in order to better ensure the safety of the operator, so as to continuously and effectively monitor the VOC in the ambient air. So do you know what are the precautions for using the VOC detector ? The following is an introduction by Yiyuntian:

Precautions for using the VOC detector are as follows:
1. VOC detector detects under normal working environment, and the working life of the sensor is more than two years.
2. In order to ensure the measurement, the portable gas detector should be calibrated regularly, and the verification period should not exceed one year.
3. Do not use a portable gas detector to frequently contact high-concentration gases with concentrations higher than the detection range, and it is strictly prohibited to collide and disassemble the bed to dry up, otherwise the working life of the sensor will be lost.
4. Use a portable gas detector in a place without corrosive gas, smoke, dust and rain.
5. If the machine does not respond for a long time, please turn off the power supply of the portable gas detector and restart it.
6. Place the portable VOC detector falling from a height or being violently shaken.
7. Do not remove the filter during use, otherwise dust will reduce the accuracy of measurement data, shorten the service life of the sensor and even damage the sensor.
8. when using VOC detectors in confined spaces, attention should be paid to flammable and harmful gases, such as reaction tanks, sewers, shipping cargo tanks, underground facilities and other environments. Before entering the closed environment, it must be tested. In this case, you must choose a detector with a suction pump, because the air is not circulating in a closed environment, the gas diffusion is slow, and the gas distribution in different parts is quite different.
To sum up, it is the VOC detector use precautions. In addition, it is worth noting that when the VOC detector is taken out of the transport box or opened for the second time, there may be a small amount of organic/inorganic gas in the detection cavity, so the PID detector may have several readings, which can be opened in an environment where there is no organic or toxic gas. After the gas is emptied, the instrument counts back to zero before testing.
