Ammonia detector installation should pay attention to what aspects?
Publication Date:2022/03/17 In the petroleum, gas, chemical, oil depot and other toxic gases in the petrochemical industry, ammonia detector is currently used to ensure production and personal safety of important instruments. When the ammonia detector detects that the concentration of the gas in the environment reaches or exceeds the preset alarm value, the signal can be transmitted to the controller through the shielded cable, and the controller immediately sends out an audible and visual alarm. At the same time, the exhaust device can be started or the solenoid valve can be closed to cut off the gas source to achieve safety purposes. However, we need to install the ammonia detector before using it. Do you know what to pay attention to when installing Ammonia Detector ? The following is a brief introduction by yi yun Tian:

Ammonia detector installation should pay attention to the following aspects:
1. when installing the ammonia gas detector, it is necessary to find out what possible leakage points the monitoring device has, analyze their leakage pressure, direction and other factors, and draw the distribution map of the probe position. according to the severity of the leakage, it is divided into Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ grades.
2. According to the specific factors such as the airflow direction and wind direction of the place, judge the leakage direction of toxic gas when a large amount of leakage occurs.
3. according to the density of the leaking gas (greater than or less than air) and the air flow trend, the three-dimensional flow trend chart of the leakage is integrated, and the initial point setting scheme is made at the downstream position of the flow.
4. Study whether the leakage state of the leakage point is micro-leakage or jet. If it is a slight leak, the location of the set point should be close to the leak point. In the case of a jet-like leak, move slightly away from the point of the leak.
5. for places with large toxic gas leakage, the ammonia gas detector shall set up a detection point every 10-20m apart according to relevant regulations.
6. For places with hydrogen leakage, the ammonia gas detector should be installed on the plane above the leakage point.
7. There should be no strong magnetic field (such as high-power motor and transformer) around the ammonia gas detector that affects the operation of the instrument.
8. The ammonia gas detector should be installed in a place where it is easy for the staff to see and hear, so as to eliminate hidden dangers in time.
9. the installation height of ammonia gas detector should generally be 160-170cm, so as to facilitate daily maintenance by maintenance personnel.
In summary, there are some aspects that should be paid attention to when installing the ammonia gas detector. Since ammonia is lighter than air, when installing the ammonia detector, the installation height of its probe should be 0.5~2m higher than the position of the release source, and the detection probe should be installed in a place without impact, vibration and strong electromagnetic field interference, and there should be a clearance of not less than 0.3m around.
