Hydrogen alarms need a detector every few meters?
Publication Date:2022/10/27 It is well known that when hydrogen and air are mixed to form an explosive mixture, it will explode when exposed to heat or open flame. In order to effectively prevent this from happening, we need to install a hydrogen alarm to ensure safety. However, in the process of installing the hydrogen alarm, there are requirements for the distance of the detector. Did you know that Hydrogen Alarm needs a detector every few meters? The following is a brief introduction by yi yun Tian:
hydrogen alarm detector installation distance specification. when the gas release source is in the equipment area arranged in the open air or semi-open air, the distance between the detection (exploration) point and the release source should meet the following requirements:
1. when the detection point is located on the windward side of the z small frequency wind direction of the release source, the distance between the hydrogen sulfide gas detector and the release source should not be greater than 2m.
2. when the detection (exploration) point is located on the downwind side of the z small frequency wind direction of the release source, the distance between the hydrogen sulfide gas detector and the release source should be less than 1m.
The toxic gas release source is in a closed or semi-closed building, and the hydrogen sulfide gas detector should not be more than 1m away from the release source.
hydrogen alarm belongs to the 1 type of combustible gas detection alarm. according to the description in article 3.0.8 of the SH3063-1999 "code for design of combustible gas detection alarm for petrochemical enterprises", the effective coverage of combustible gas detector on the horizontal plane radius should be 7.5m indoors, outdoor should be 15m, therefore, in the effective coverage area, can be set up a detector. The hydrogen alarm is generally installed every 15 meters outdoors and every 7.5 meters indoors.
In summary, we can see that when installing hydrogen alarms outdoors, one should be installed every 15 meters, and one indoor every 7.5 meters. The installation height should be within 2 meters above the leakage source, and the gas detector with hydrogen alarm should also be installed in the air to the high place.
