What are the specifications for the installation and distribution of combustible gas alarms?

Publication Date:2022/12/21

At present, in many places where gas is produced, used and stored, combustible gas alarms are required to be installed to ensure that the equipment can correctly detect the gas concentration in the field environment, thereby reducing the occurrence of gas leakage and explosion accidents. However, if we want to install the combustible gas alarm correctly, we must first understand the installation specification of the gas alarm. Do you know the installation specifications of combustible gas alarm ? The following is a brief introduction by yi yun Tian:

according to the SH3063-1999" combustible gas detection for petrochemical enterprises alarm Design Specification, the installation specifications of combustible gas alarm are as follows:

1, article 3.0.7: combustible gas alarm should be arranged on the windward side of the minimum frequency wind direction of combustible gas or toxic gas release source.

2, article 3.0.8: the effective coverage horizontal plane radius of combustible gas alarm should be 7.5m indoors and 15m outdoors. Within the effective coverage area, a detector may be provided. The distance between the toxic gas detector and the release source should not be greater than 2m outdoors and 1m indoors.

3, article 3.0.9: the place where combustible gas or toxic gas detection and alarm devices should be set up should be fixed. When there is no condition to set up a fixed type, a portable detection and alarm device should be equipped.

4, article 3.0.10: combustible gas and toxic gas detection and alarm system should be relatively independent instrument system.

5, article 4.1.2: when the detection point is located on the windward side of the minimum frequency wind direction of the release source in the open air or semi-open air, the distance between the combustible gas detection point and the release source should not be more than 15m, the distance between the toxic gas detection point and the release source should not be greater than 2m; when the detection point is located at the downwind side of the minimum frequency wind direction of the release source, the distance between the combustible gas detection point and the release source should not be greater than 5m, and the distance between the toxic gas detection point and the release source should be less than 1m.

6, article 4.1.3: when the combustible gas release source is in a closed or semi-closed plant, one detector can be set every 15m, and the combustible gas alarm should not be more than 7.5m from any release source. The toxic gas detector should not be more than 1m away from the release source.

7, article 4.1.5: if the combustible gas release source lighter than air is in a closed or semi-closed plant, a combustible gas alarm shall be set above the release source, A combustible gas alarm shall also be provided at the site of the plant where the zui high point is liable to accumulate combustible gas.

8, article 4.3.4: combustible gas alarm should be set in the following places not within the effective coverage area of the detector:

① Process units, storage and transportation facilities, etc. that use or produce liquefied hydrocarbons/or toxic gases may accumulate flammable gases and toxic gases on the ground at the lower level of the sewage ditch zui.

② "dead spots" that are prone to the accumulation of Class A gases and toxic gases ".

9, article 6.1.1: the installation height of the detector for detecting combustible gas or toxic gas heavier than air shall be 0.3 ∽ 0.6m from the floor (or floor.

10, article 6.1.2: the installation height of the detector for detecting combustible gas or toxic gas lighter than air should be 0.5 ∽ 2m higher than the release source.

to sum up, it is the installation specification of combustible gas alarm. only by understanding the relevant installation specification can we better ensure the correct installation of combustible gas alarm and thus ensure production safety.
