What are the factors that affect the determination of oxygen detector?

Publication Date:2023/02/13

In the process of using the oxygen detector, especially when analyzing the oxygen content of the oxygen detector, due to the oxygen content in the air as high as 21% O2, if not handled properly, it is easy to cause pollution and interference to the sample, resulting in incorrect data measured by the oxygen detector. In fact, this phenomenon is often caused by certain factors measured by the oxygen detector. Do you know the factors that affect the measurement of oxygen detector ? The following is a brief introduction by Yi Yuntian:

Factors affecting the measurement of oxygen detector:

1. Simplification and cleanliness of the gas path system of the oxygen detector.

Microanalysis requires that contamination of sample gas caused by dead corners in various pipe fittings, valves, headers, etc. on the gas circuit must be effectively eliminated. Therefore, the oxygen detector should simplify the gas path system as much as possible, and choose the connecting piece with small dead angle. In addition, avoid the use of water seal, oil seal and wax seal and other equipment to prevent the dissolved oxygen from escaping and causing pollution. It is also necessary to avoid adding purification equipment that is easy to cause pollution on the pipeline leading to the inlet of the oxygen analyzer. Only in this way can the system be clean and the data obtained by the oxygen detector be accurate.

2. Contamination of the oxygen detector.

When reusing the oxygen detector, pay attention to whether air leaks when connecting the sampling pipeline, and carefully blow the leaked air clean, and try not to let a large amount of oxygen pass through the sensor to prolong the service life of the sensor. In the process of pipeline system purification, in order to shorten the purification time, a certain method is needed. Generally, high-pressure venting and small-flow blowing can be used alternately to quickly purify the pipeline.

3. Selection of pipe material.

The pipe material and surface roughness of the oxygen detector will also affect the change of oxygen content in the sample gas. Generally, it is not suitable to use plastic pipes, rubber pipes, etc. as connecting pipes. Copper or stainless steel pipes are usually selected, and polished stainless steel pipes are required for ultra-micro analysis (refers to & lt;0.1ppm).

4. Leakage of oxygen detector.

Strict leak detection is required prior to initial oxygen tester activation. The oxygen detector can only obtain accurate data results under the premise of strict and non-leakage. Any connection points, solder joints, valves and other imprecise, will lead to oxygen in the air into the pipeline and oxygen analyzer internal, resulting in high oxygen content.

To sum up, there are some factors that affect the determination of oxygen detector. Therefore, if we want to more accurate oxygen detector measurement data, we must do the above four aspects of the work, so that the data is true and effective.
