How to deal with the emergency when the ammonia gas detector leaks?
Publication Date:2023/03/17 Ammonia is the 1 kind of gas with great toxicity to human body. Chronic ammonia poisoning can cause chronic bronchitis, emphysema and other respiratory diseases. Acute ammonia poisoning is reflected in cough and suffocation. In order to better ensure safety, ammonia alarms are required to be installed in places where ammonia leakage may occur. In case of ammonia leakage, sound and light alarms will be given in time to cut off the gas leakage, thus reducing the possibility of accidents. Do you know how to deal with a leak in the Ammonia detector ? The following is a brief introduction by yi yun Tian:

emergency measures in case of leakage:
(1) Small amount of leakage.
When the ammonia detector sends an early warning alarm, arrange all personnel in the evacuation area in time. Prevent inhalation of vapors and prevent contact with liquids or gases. Disposal personnel should use respirators. It is forbidden to enter the confined space where ammonia gas may collect, and strengthen ventilation. Only in the case of safety stoppage. Leakage containers should be transferred to a safe area, and the valve should only be opened to relieve pressure when safety is ensured. Leakage can be collected and adsorbed by inert absorbing materials such as sand and vermiculite. Collected spills should be placed in closed containers with corresponding labels for disposal.
(2) A large number of leaks.
When the ammonia detector sends an early warning alarm, evacuate all unprotected personnel in the place in time and move to the upward wind direction. Leakage disposal personnel should wear fully enclosed heavy-duty chemical protective clothing, wear air respirator, and dilute the leakage area with spray water after taking personal protective measures. Through the dilution of water gun, the ammonia gas on the site is gradually dispersed, and the leakage point is blocked by non-sparking tools.
When the concentration of the detected gas in the environment reaches or exceeds the preset alarm value, the ammonia detector will immediately send out an audible and visual alarm to remind the user to take safety measures, and drive the exhaust, cut-off and spray systems to prevent explosion, fire and poisoning accidents, so as to ensure safe production.
To sum up, it is the emergency response measures when the ammonia gas detector leaks. Ammonia detector can be applied to ammonia concentration detection and ammonia concentration exceeding standard alarm. It can detect ammonia concentration and display real-time concentration value and standard signal output on site. It has the advantages of response speed, sensitivity, stability, strong anti-interference ability, small volume and light weight. It can be used for ammonia detection at flue gas exhaust outlet of fixed pollution source and is also suitable for ammonia concentration monitoring in the atmosphere of unorganized emission plant boundary.
