What are the common signal output methods of the oxygen detector?

Publication Date:2024/05/22

As the key equipment of modern industrial safety monitoring, oxygen detector can not only accurately perceive the air quality in the environment, detect the concentration of harmful gases in real time, and issue an alarm when the concentration exceeds the standard, but also need to have strong signal transmission ability to ensure the real-time and accuracy of data. Thus, the importance of oxygen detector signal output mode. Do you know the common signal output methods of oxygen detector ? The following is a brief introduction by yiyuntian electronics:

 oxygen detector

common signal output mode of oxygen detector:

1. Analog signal transmission mode (4-20mA):

in this way, the data of the oxygen detector is converted into analog signals, and then transmitted to the gas alarm controller or PLC and DCS monitoring system through analog signal lines (usually three-core shielded cables). For example, when an increase in the concentration of a certain harmful gas is detected, the output voltage or current of the oxygen detector will increase accordingly, thereby providing a continuous and quantifiable data feedback to the user. The advantages of this method are that the signal is stable, the transmission distance is long, and it is easy to integrate with various control systems.

2. Digital signal transmission method (RS485):

In this way, the data of the oxygen detector is converted into digital signals and transmitted to the gas alarm controller or PLC or DCS monitoring system through digital signal lines (two-core shielded cable or four-core shielded cable). The digital signal transmission method has higher data transmission speed and anti-interference ability, and supports longer transmission distance and more equipment connection. This digital signal transmission method of the oxygen detector has the advantages of strong anti-interference ability and long transmission distance, and is especially suitable for large-scale industrial sites or remote monitoring scenarios.

3. Switching value/relay output:

When the detected gas concentration reaches the preset alarm value, the indicator light of the oxygen detector changes from green to red and flashes. At the same time, the relay is closed and the corresponding ventilation equipment is turned on, when the gas concentration is lower than the preset alarm value, the indicator light turns green, the relay switch is disconnected, and the ventilation equipment is turned off.

To sum up, we can see that the common signal output modes of oxygen detectors mainly include analog signal transmission mode, digital signal transmission mode, switching value/relay output and other modes. Of course, the specific signal output method of the oxygen detector may vary depending on the manufacturer, model and application scenario. Users can choose the appropriate output mode according to the actual needs, so as to make better use of the oxygen detector for environmental monitoring and early warning. Therefore, when selecting and using an oxygen detector, please be sure to refer to the product manual or consult the manufacturer for accurate information.
