How to do a good job of gas detector maintenance and calibration?

Publication Date:2024/08/02

In this potentially dangerous industrial environment, the importance of gas detectors as the guardian of safe production is self-evident. Therefore, in order to ensure that the gas detector can run stably for a long time and accurately measure all kinds of harmful gases, it is particularly important to do a good job of maintenance and calibration. Do you know how to maintain and calibrate your gas detector ? The following is an introduction to yiyuntian electronic editor:

 Gas Detector

(1) Regular inspection and cleaning

regular cleaning: regularly clean the exterior of the gas detector and the sensor to ensure that its surface is clean and prevent dust and dirt from affecting the sensor. You can use a soft cloth or cotton swab to wipe gently, avoid the use of aggressive cleaning agents.

Inspect the components: Check whether the sampling probe, sealing ring, four-way valve, condensate water and other components of the gas detector are damaged or aged, and replace them in time if necessary.

check the gas flow: regularly check whether the gas flow meets the requirements, the general gas flow is 30L/h, too large or too small flow will affect the measurement results of the gas detector.

(2) Replace the filter and battery

p> Change the filter paper: after a period of use, the filter paper should be replaced regularly. When replacing the filter paper, stop the air pump and empty the filter tank to prevent impurities from entering the gas detector.

Check the battery level: check the battery level regularly, if the level is low, replace it in time to ensure the normal operation of the gas detector.

(3) Troubleshoot air leaks

> During the use of the gas detector, check whether there is air leakage in the air system, for example, whether the diaphragm of the suction pump in the instrument is damaged, and whether the sealing ring of the sampling probe is damaged.

(4) Maintain a suitable working environment

Gas detector should be placed in a well-ventilated, dry, non-corrosive gas environment, avoid direct sunlight and high temperatures.

2. calibration work

(1) Prepare calibration gas

According to the requirements and specifications of the gas detector, prepare the calibration gas to ensure that its concentration and purity meet the requirements. The calibration gas shall be stable and reliable standard gas, and the production date and validity period shall be indicated.

(2) Connect calibration gas

> Connect the calibration gas to the gas inlet of the gas detector, make sure the connections are secure and leak free. The connection should be in accordance with the instructions of the instrument to avoid the wrong connection or damage to the instrument.

(3) Calibration Operation

> Follow the instructions and calibration procedures of the gas detector for calibration. It is usually necessary to adjust the zero point and span of the instrument according to the concentration of the calibration gas. During the calibration process, attention should be paid to observe whether the display value of the gas detector is consistent with the concentration of the calibration gas. If there is any deviation, it should be adjusted in time.

(4) Verify Calibration Results

> After calibration, verify that the gas detector readings are consistent with the concentration of the calibration gas. If there are discrepancies, re-calibrate or check the gas detector for faults.

(5) Record calibration information

> record the calibration date, time, calibration gas concentration and gas detector readings and other information, for subsequent traceability and analysis.

To sum up, we can see that the maintenance and calibration of the gas detector is not only the guarantee of its performance, but also the responsibility for our own safety.Only in this way can we ensure the accuracy and reliability of the gas detector and let it provide us with strong support at critical moments.
