What should I do when the gas detector sends a leak alarm?

Publication Date:2021/11/17

modern life brings us a lot of convenience, at the same time, it also brings us all kinds of dangers, the factory workshop is filled with toxic gases, the tools of transporting dangerous goods pass by us, and the unknown substances in the laboratory are threatening our health all the time. In order to effectively ensure safety, after the gas leakage reaches the set value, the gas detector will issue an early warning to remind people of the leakage accident, and then people will take countermeasures according to the location of the leakage and the leakage concentration value. So what do you do when Gas Detector sounds a leak alarm? The following is a brief introduction by yi yun Tian:

When a gas detector emits a leak alarm, the following actions shall be taken:

1, highly toxic gases such as chlorine/carbon dioxide, etc., after the gas detector sends out an early warning alarm, timely arrange personnel to evacuate, at the same time close the leakage valve, cut off the leakage source, reasonable ventilation and use spray water for dissolution and dilution. At the same time, the diluted water must also enter the wastewater system for centralized treatment, and cannot be directly discharged to the sewer to prevent secondary pollution.

2. provide sufficient ventilation for the leak site, then arrange special personnel to overhaul the leak site after re-testing the site environment and ensuring safety, and carry out regular manual patrol inspection after the valve is reopened, and arrange personnel to enter the site for production operations only after confirming safety.

In summary, some measures should be taken when the gas detector issues a leak alarm. Only after correctly handling the leakage site of the gas detector, we confirm that the detector will not continue to alarm (the gas will not continue to leak), and press the manual switch to open the automatic cut-off device to restore the gas. During this process, do not touch the power of the combustible gas alarm at will to prevent the detector from working properly.
