What are the requirements for setting up combustible gas alarms in gas stations?
Publication Date:2023/05/05 In order to ensure better safety and prevent accidents, fixed combustible gas alarm shall be set in the gas facility area or building (structure) where the leakage concentration of combustible gas in the gas station may reach 20% of the lower explosion limit, including storage tank area, pump room, compressor room, liquefied petroleum gas filling station, liquefied petroleum gas cylinder warehouse, etc. However, the combustible gas alarm can not be set casually, and its setting is also required. Do you know the requirements for setting up Combustible Gas Alarm ? The following is a brief introduction by yi yun Tian:

Requirements for installing combustible gas alarms in gas stations are as follows:
1. Explosion-proof requirements
Electrical and instrument devices in explosion hazard environment are installed in the gas plant station, therefore, the combustible gas alarm should have explosion-proof performance corresponding to the explosion hazard level in the area.
2, centralized alarm location
the display of combustible gas alarm should be set in the duty room or instrument room and other places with personnel on duty.
3, horizontal distance from the release source
The release source is in open or open plant layout within the equipment area, the horizontal distance of the combustible gas alarm from any release source within its coverage area should not be greater than 10m.
The release source is in a closed plant or a semi-open plant with poor local ventilation. The horizontal distance between the combustible gas alarm and any release source within its coverage area should not be greater than 5m.
4. Vertical distance from release source
When detecting LPG, the installation height of combustible gas alarm should be 0.3m ~ 0.6m from the floor (or floor); When detecting natural gas, the installation height of combustible gas alarm should be within 2.0m above the release source. If it is indoors, a combustible gas alarm should be set up at the height of the house.
In summary, it is the requirement for gas stations to set up combustible gas alarms. By meeting these setting requirements, we can make the combustible gas alarm work better, so as to ensure the safety of production.
