What should be paid attention to when using combustible gas alarm?
Publication Date:2023/07/28 At present, in many industrial production processes, the installation of combustible gas alarms is required. We through the installation of combustible gas alarm, when the industrial environment of combustible or toxic gas leakage, combustible gas alarm detected gas concentration reached the explosion or poisoning alarm set alarm point, it will send an alarm signal, to remind the staff to take safety measures. Do you know what you should pay attention to when using combustible gas alarm ? The following is a brief introduction by yi yun Tian:

When using combustible gas alarm, pay attention to the following aspects:
1. The combustible gas alarm should be checked once a month under long-term live working conditions. The on-site inspection method is to immerse a cotton ball in a small amount of alcohol, close to the gas sensor. If there is an alarm (display), it means normal operation.
2. The catalytic element used in the combustible gas alarm should have almost the same sensitivity to various combustible gases. Especially in the presence of mixed gas, the combustible gas alarm cannot be used as a sensitive element to distinguish the composition of the mixed gas.
3. Studies on the physical and chemical properties of flammable gas-sensitive elements have shown that sulfides can change the properties of elements, and these properties cannot be restored, resulting in the so-called "poisoning" phenomenon. Therefore, the combustible gas alarm should prevent the "poisoning" of the combustible gas sensitive components, avoid direct oil immersion or grease pollution, and shall not be used in acidic or alkaline corrosive gases for a long time.
4. The installation position of combustible gas alarm should be determined according to the nature of combustible gas to be measured. If the detected gas is lighter than air and easy to float, such as natural gas, coal gas, etc., the combustible gas alarm should be installed above the equipment or near the ceiling; if the detected gas is heavier than air, it should be installed at a lower position not more than 50cm from the ground.
In summary, you should pay attention to some aspects when using combustible gas alarms. In addition, it is worth noting that in order to fully utilize the performance of the combustible gas alarm, the user must avoid using the instrument in an environment that contains a gas alarm that may poison or inhibit the combustible gas.
